We only spoke to the manager at the accommodation in taupo a couple of hours before we would be arriving but that wasn’t an issue because they had a room ready for us and even said that we could check in as soon as we arrived, even though it was before the usual check in time, which was good of them. We only decided to head over there when we woke up and saw that it was such a nice sunny day and thought it would be a great weekend to spend by the lake. It stayed nice for the two days so we were wrapped with that because we got to be outside doing heaps of fun stuff.
