With today’s high definition TV’s it is growing more necessary to have high definition viewing from the cable and satellite companies. To this end most companies have complied with one form of HDTV view option or another, and this is where the Dish Network vs DIRECTV issue can get a little confusing. Dish Network does offer only 55 HD channels while Direct TV offers 130. Pricing is only $15 dollars more for Direct TV than it is from Dish Network.  So it would appear that Direct TV has a better package. However, Direct TV only broadcast HD channels in 720p, while Dish Network offers its HD channels in full 1080p high definition.
